Her Story
Sunda Tan is a first-generation immigrant from Cleveland, Ohio, who has bravely navigated life's challenges as the daughter of refugee parents. At just 14, Sunda faced a heartbreaking moment when she witnessed a family member attempt suicide, an event that would forever shape her understanding of mental health. This traumatic experience, coupled with her own diagnosis of bipolar disorder, ignited a deep passion for healing and self-discovery.

Growing up with limited access to mental health care, Sunda learned to cultivate her own coping strategies and self-care practices. These personal journeys of resilience led her to found Self Love Club in 2020—a space dedicated to nurturing self-love and mental well-being. The loss of her father in 2016 further deepened her commitment to healing. In seeking therapy and embracing self-care, she discovered the power of vulnerability and acceptance. The mantra “Self Love Club” emerged as her guiding light during this transformative period.

Through her experiences, Sunda recognized the universal need for compassion and support in mental health. With Self Love Club, she aims to inspire others to embrace their own journeys, raising awareness about the importance of affordable self-care. Sunda believes that healing begins from within and that self-love is not just a concept, but a vital foundation for personal growth and well-being.

Her heartfelt mission is to create a community where everyone feels empowered to share their stories, seek help, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance. In a world where mental health struggles are often silenced, Sunda’s journey stands as a testament to the strength found in vulnerability and the transformative power of love—both for oneself and for others.
